International Yoga Day 2015 !

Yogah karmasu Kausalam !

Father's day too !!

kasarabada.org welcomes all !

This is a truly busy weekend - with Father's day and International yoga day on Sunday June 21 2015 !

Krishna tried to simplify complex issues so common people can participate. Some of things he simplified are Yagnya, Tapas so that these are within the reach of common people. Another word he redefined is Yoga. We are sure that in the times gone by these words caused confusion and through Krishna we have a better understanding of what they are. Today probably Yoga is being celebrated all over as though it is mostly related to physical exercise. From the vast ancient literature Yoga is more complex with definition of Ashtanga Yoga etc. But Krishna went farther, he said - Yogah karmasu Kausalam . We have a little more on that elsewhere on this page.!

This week Balakanda continues with Sarga 48.

Sarga 48 is about the story of Ahalya. What ever may be the fault of Ahalya , it is the shenanigans of Indra that should baffle us all. I am sure what Rt Honourable Srinivasa Sastri would have said about it, if he were to deal with it. For those who might not have read or known about Srinivasa Sastri's lectures, we should make it clear that he is a devotee of highest order and his knowledge of Ramayan is immense. To him Rama the man is the "Purushottam"! . Yet that did not stop him from calling spade a spade, and he does point out lapses as they happened in Ramayana. We are in awe of his lawyerly thoroughness in analysis. So we are tempted to bring out what he might have said about Ahalya episode . That will be at a later date.

We have multilingual pages. An important part of language pages is Telugu. The Telugu home page is restructured . We want all our Telugu visitors to visit the new Telugu page. More importantly this is also the beginning of another adventure. We are bringing Bhagavad-Gita in a collaborative effort in Telugu. We created pages for Telugu Balakanda, Telugu Bhagavadgita and Subbalakshmi gari kalamlO. These are in addition to the earlier Vijayraghavrao gari Sundarakanda.

We are excited.

We will be adding Bhagavad-Gita pages in English under Athato soon.

We have been revisiting Bhagavatam pages. Now the main page of Dasama Skandha or the book Ten of Bhagavatam is revised. We have added links to several important events of the tenth Book of Bhagavatam.

Some of the key stories of Dasama Skandha or the Book Ten of Bhagavatam so highlighted are : Krishna's Birth , Raslila, or Gopikas and Krishna , Rukmini kalyanam. The page on Krishna and Gopikas is interesting because we tried to present the gradual evolution of Gopis from the early days of admiration of Krishna in his childhood to the last stages where Krishna meets Gopis at the Syamantapanchaka.

Happy Reading !
